Excavating

It's not so long ago that nobody would have dreamed of using powerful machinery to do fairly simple jobs. The advantage of these diggers and excavators over human manual work cannot be denied but when you add up the pros and cons it's less than might be thought. Consider the inflexibility of machine functions, the impact of the machine's weight the benefits of exercise, the problems of obesity, the satisfaction in manual work. Not so obvious. It would be interesting to know just how much public money has gone into the repair of this bridleway over the last 5 years. And is it any better for it?
