Cornish Connections

Blacka is not the only place in the country where people have objected to the conservation industry's determined imposition of cattle grazing and barbed wire on favourite sites.

In Cornwall (admittedly disputable as part of England) the locals have objected strongly and petitioned against a cabal of quangos and desk sitters who plan to fence and graze Penwith Moor.

This Guardian article from September puts it like this.

It is the unique, indefinable quality of the area that campaigners fear will be lost. "These moors should be left alone. Their enclosure will be a disaster not easily undone."
