Sheffield Council Tax Payers should take note. We pay their salaries yet they don't like us to know what they're up to. The arrogance of the directors and officers who work for us takes some believing. The latest example of this is a claim from a director that he's not obliged to keep me informed about how he's spending the money I'm obliged to pay him each year.
I'm referring to a Freedom of Information request on 21st January concerning Sheffield Council's plans to lease public land such as Burbage Moor and local parks to NGOs such as the National Trust. From the responses I've had from council director, Paul Billington, there's a reluctance to part with the information. Why the secrecy? What's to hide?
