To Stunt or to Nourish

Good wilder nature nourishes the imagination. Children still read fairy tales, some of them at least, and good illustrating didn't stop with Arthur Rackham. Those pictures should be seen as not just fantasy but firmly rooted in what we can actually find in the woods today.


But this kind of pile of nothingness simply stunts the imagination as does what results from most of the management we see.


Left to itself trees decay and fall with dignity creating wonderful effects.
